Utah-resident Ashley Gardner never thought the day would come that she would hold a baby in her arms. However, her lifelong dream has been granted when on Dec. 28, 2014, she gave birth to quadruplets at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
For eight years, she and her husband Tyson tried to everything they could do to get pregnant but all it resulted was disappointment and heartache. Ashley underwent laparoscopy, numerous medications and even four Intra-Uterine Insemination, which all ended negatively. But a year and a half ago, the couple, who were really looking forward to having children began saving up for an In Vitro Fertilization procedure, which is the only thing they haven’t tried.
Their prayers were answered when in this year, Ashley tested positive for pregnancy after their first try of IVF. But the real surprise came in July when she underwent an ultrasound and the machine detected four heartbeats. The couple was having quadruplets! The couple’s announcement in their social network went viral as friends began sharing the photo of them looking incredulous while holding the four ultrasound photos.
Last Sunday, Ashley finally gave birth to four girls named Esme, Evangeline, Indie and Scarlett. All four are in healthy condition even if they were delivered 12 weeks earlier than expected. The couple decided on a C-section delivery after Ashley began experiencing intense contractions.
