It’s true that counting your blessings is a bit of a cliché but it’s the kind of an overused phrase that can make your life appear more extraordinary. Identifying the things to be thankful for — no matter how big or small — enables you to realize how fortunate you really are. Be in the Moment
There will always be sad memories in the past and petrifying concerns in the future. Do your best to live in the present and enjoy what you have at the moment. Each time you unintentionally begin to focus on any negative thought about yesterday or tomorrow, stop and remind your self how beautiful today is.

It’s for certain that you’re always more fortunate than another human being. Being aware of the terrible circumstances others have to put up with each time allows you to know how lucky you are. With a little effort, you will see every stumbling block as a chance for you to learn, grow and become stronger. Don’t just remind yourself that things happen for a reason — seek that reason! Just imagine life without challenges that toughen you up and make your existence a little more interesting.
Show Your Appreciation for Family and Friends
Grab every opportunity to tell the ones you love how grateful you are for their presence and the marvelous things they offer. Doing so allows you to realize that there are individuals who genuinely care about your existence. A show of appreciation allows both parties — you and your loved ones — to feel really good inside.
Do a Small Act of Kindness
You don’t have to be a superhero to save the planet. Even simple acts such as donating to charity or opening the door to a stranger can help change lives. Doing random acts of kindness and helping others allow you to be thankful that you’re capable of doing all sorts of things that not everyone can do.
Keep a Journal
Always have a small notebook and a pen with you and write down every single good thing about your day as soon as it happens. Try to come up with 10 entries per page — more is recommendable. As you fill up one page after the other, you will find it easier and easier to identify all the things to be grateful for.
