If you want to be successful in your life, then you must be willing to pay the price. Those who already had it made understand that success don’t come cheap, meaning, you have to give up on certain luxuries, some may require you to give up personal relationships, unconscious habits, and other beliefs that may weigh you down. It’s a long climb to the top of the food chain, and carrying a lot of unnecessary weight can just hamper your progress.

1. Don’t let anything distract you from your goals.

You can’t come anywhere near success if you are too busy reading your Facebook newsfeed or taking photos of the food you’re about to eat. The number of likes on your posts won’t magically translate to cash, so stop begging for it. In other words, don’t let too many distractions occupy your valuable time; otherwise you can’t focus on things that actually matter. Eliminate your distractions and concentrate more on your life goals.

2. Stop your weekend partying.

Most people do not come from wealthy families. In fact, millions of people fight tooth and nail just to have a decent shot at success. Sometimes people have to accept jobs that they don’t like just to keep bringing food on the table. It’s a hard life, and what most people do to de-stress is party on weekends like there is no tomorrow.
But is partying the ultimate de-stress activity? Most financial experts say that instead of blowing your resources on a hard-core party each week, use that free time instead to work on your next big project, to come up with fresh ideas or to read a very good book. Sacrifice your momentary pleasures in exchange for long-lasting rewards.

3. Stop feeding those leechers.

People who are used to asking for money, attention, or anything that is of value without giving anything in return are often termed as leechers. If you’re not careful, leechers will suck the life out of you with their personal baggage and drama. Sure, they need help, but then again, learn to differentiate the ones who are in real jeopardy from those who are life-draining. If you allow these leechers to feed on your energy, then eventually, you’ll cease to have a life of your own. Cut them from your system now; you’re better off on your own.

4. Stop finding excuses to defer your dreams.

People are quite happy to make excuses when they feel that they can’t execute something. In today’s modern world, you have all the resources and information that you’ll need in order to follow your life’s purpose. Stop lying to yourself and make no more excuses to delay the achievement of your dreams. Instead of dilly-dallying, find reasons to start getting busy. The earlier you take action, the earlier you’ll attain success.

5. Quit Playing the Victim Card

Whatever you are experiencing right now, know that you are not alone. Millions of people have been in your shoes, and they have successfully made it through. So when you’ve been dealt with a less than ideal set of cards, just make the most out of it. If you made mistakes in your past, take full responsibility for it, learn the lesson, forgive yourself and move on.
There’s no way you’ll be successful if you’ll keep on blaming other people for your life’s situation. You have free will, so use it and steer your life for the better.
