Skeleton Flower, Diphylleia grayi, is a white flower that turns transparent upon contact with water.
Indigenous to colder regions of Japan and China, Skeleton Flower generally grows on moist, wooden mountainsides. It has an umbrella-shaped leaves with small-petalled white flowers. It grow up to the height of 0.4 meters and blooms from mid-spring to early summer.
What’s amazing about Skeleton Flower is it lose its white pigmentation and turn into crystal-like petals when exposed to water. It restores its white pigmentation once the water is all dried up.
