With many women becoming more obsessed with looking younger and maintaining their beauty, plastic surgery has become commonplace to achieve those results. However, not everyone is willing (and could afford) to go to great lengths to attain beauty.
With these 8 tricks, anyone could step up their beauty game without going under the knife.
1. Exfoliate at least once a week.
Our skin is made up of cells and they die daily. When we are exposed to the sun, dirt, sweat and pollution, all these grime add to the dead cells, which causes breakouts and dry, sometimes even rough, skin. Exfoliating rids our skin of the dirt that has built-up and deeply cleanses it. It also smoothens the skin and enhances blood flow, resulting to nice glow.
2. Always slather SPF.
Yes, it’s nice to have a golden tan but with the depletion of the Ozone Layer, too much sun exposure could be very bad for the skin. Applying sunscreen protects us from the harmful rays of the sun that could cause skin discoloration, premature wrinkles, or worse, skin cancer.
Putting on moisturizer helps keep the skin hydrated and looking supple. But hold your horses, not all moisturizers are created alike so before you smear yourself with the first one you could get your hands into, identify what type of skin you have on your face. If you have oily skin, go for light and non-comedogenic ones. On the other hand if your face is more on the dry side, find cream-types and if your skin is combina tion of both, look for those that are light on the face. If you’re unsure what your skin type is, ask a dermatologist.
4. Reduce salt intake and limit sweets.
Too much salt and refined carbohydrates could prevent you from having premature wrinkles.
5. Drink at least eight glasses of water daily.
You may not find yourself thirsty but drinking water has other benefits aside from quenching your thirst. Keeping yourself properly hydrated helps keep your muscles from experiencing fatigue. It also keeps the extra calories at bay because it makes you feel full and has zero calories in it. A properly hydrated skin that glows is also the result of enough water intake.
6. Do at least 30 minutes of cardio activity 5 times a week.
Cardio activity keeps your heart rate up and increases metabolism. Been wanting to fit into that sexy dress you saw? The right kind of cardio activity and proper diet will help you lose weight in no time.
7. Get enough sleep.
I cannot emphasize the importance of getting enough sleep. Aside from the rest that it gives our body, sleeping lessens the effects of inflammatory cells that attack our body and its production of collagen, which gives skin its bouncy and supple texture.
A sincere smile is the best accessory one could ever possess.
